The Charlie Rose interview broadcasts out of New York are perhaps the greatest gift to the worldwide that New York has made of recent times - though we love to hear your nominations because as a mapmaker I am sure there must be many worth exploring. Here's one recent episode that's buzing round clubofcity and clubofvillage and anywhere our open networks of entrepreneurial revolution can link through with our 30th birthday party celebrations in 2006

Lazard's head of strategy gave away that he was so interested in New York magazines, that if for some reason strategy merchanting ever takes a downturn, then he'll spend his life making buckets of money or communal goodwill out of Big Apple's most lucrative magazine* web opportunities. Now I am not sure I heard him identify what those were -maybe I (and a million friends of entrepreneurial revolutions) will have to visit google video and pay charlie 99 cents for a rerun. But anyway here's a possibly uplifting debate between me and you (indeed every netizen who loves transparently connecting until we discover the next big (and as Thomas Friedman and the 1.3 million reades of The World is Flat would say green enough) idea for 6 billion people to enjoy profitably working with) and perhaps him. Where's the flaw in this debate whatever culture inside New York you love most?

New York Magazines - indeed any big city's press - have been on my mind for 2 lifetimes- openly inquistive global leadership media being what my father as an economist http://ecosaintjames.blogspot.com helped to co-create, and around one of whose 30th aniversaries of hosting http://entrepreneurialrevolution.blogspot.com revolutionary network roundtables we celebrate in 2006. This intro is also how we are syndicating this conversation board's pre-eminence around 100 blogs.

The head of Lazards was on tv a few days ago saying that he had made one investment for the company he knew would compound extraordinary wealth (perhaps even an exit startegy if the rest of whatver strategy merchants do turns out to be seen as less and less valuable). Buying a New York Magazine , I think the New Yorker.

Now he was talking about a magazine when coupled to the internet can be a city's number 1 exchange rather fear for whatever the most extravagant new yorkers are prepared to pay at the click of their fingertips for when they need the recipe or other codes to action a fashion or a party around them. But think of a different city magazine. One that kept on asking what abundant economics exhchanges could we co-create with in twin-city diversity collaborations. These might include deep social value like project30000 or revolutionise global industry sectors until their exponentials uptilt to use Thomas Friedman's core economic principle of today's ever flatter world.

What could Delhi-New York innovate that's best for the world. What could Wellington-New York innovate that's best for the world. It seems to me
-and other disruptive agents of the internet

that contextual micro-communities and microfinance go hand in hand with a medium combo of city magazine and worldwide web. InterCitizens could be debating thousands of experimental concepts in the knowledge that those which made progress would be reported back all round the city through the glossy magazine and its chattering classes. Now Mr Murdoch, how about this beyond media? http://value100.blogspot.com I promise you that it is exactly how one (the first wholly global leadership) press media returned 100 times shareholder investments over a generation by compounding 1000 times value across societies.

Worldwide, club of city supports collaboration and networkers: to pose serious questions, notably on future curves that seem to be trending down in many places and communities. How do all peoples and media 1 2 3 turnround such examples as:
  • Healthcare – ever increasing costs
  • Children – increased family strain, lost safety of community
  • Professionals- loss of Hippocratic oath, ever more bureaucratic
  • Water – Clean water is getting scarcer
  • Transport – getting slower
  • National Government – Increasingly powering over instead of facilitating what people need next Mass media – dumbing down, loss of social space and transparent debates
  • Food chain – cost of good for you food going up
  • Nations Cultures- love of each other’s diversity going down
  • Pensions (investment in sustainable growth) – going down
  • Adult confidence in making a difference with lifelong learning potentials – seems to be going down
  • Insurance – cost going up, learnings across biggest tragedies seem increasingly blocked
  • Underclass – compounding underclass- their loss of hope in life and mutual risks to all of us in a hi-connected world
  • NGOs/Charity – Global*Local infrastructure further removed from depth of grassroots needs in crisis or sustainability turnround challenges
We are interested in any city network that either recognises any of these as a problem which it wants to question or has some answers they are happy to share with the world
